Magnolias are blooming around Alvin, Texas, and this one is near Froberg's Funeral Home. Magnolia is a large genus of about 210 flowering plant species in the subfamily Magnolioideae of the family Magnoliaceae. It is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol.

GREEN enough?
We will have our 50th high school reunion at Hidden Palms in Santa Fe, Texas, this October, so I went to check the place out. Looks like a great venue, with palms, ponds, gazebos, and meeting rooms. I guess the ponds keep the plants well watered in this drought.

Wisteria Vine and Blooms
Been watching this old Wisteria vine lately, because it is a sure sign that Spring is here when the Wisteria blooms.
